Missile Bills are flashing Bullet Bills that have the ability to home in on whoever is near. They appear in the whole series and they also appear in the Luigi's Mansion series, where they first appeared in Luigi's Mansion 4: Haunted Dreams, while in the main series, they first appeared in Super Mario Bros. 3.
When Luigi is near a Missile Bill, it will start to chase him, and it will keep chasing him until it hits an object or enemy. Also, when it comes to breaking cages, Missile Bills are the perfect solutions for this kind of problem, as they will home in on Luigi, giving him the chance to lead them to a cage. Missile Bills later appeared in Luigi's Mansion 5: Curse of the Mansion and Luigi's Mansion 6: U Are Doomed!!. In those two games, Missile Bills appear along with a sub-species called Missile Banzai Bills.
