The Luigi's Mansion series is a series of video games developed by EEA Inc. and published by Fantendo. It began in 2001 where Luigi's Mansion was the first installment of the series (though it was not fan-made and was actually published by Nintendo). In 2006 came the sequel, Luigi's Mansion 2, which now had the Wii VacYoum along with it and the first Luigi's Mansion game to be released on the Wii. A cancelled game in the series is Luigi's Mansion: BeWere of Luigi, which was announced at E3 2007 to be released in the same year. It was cancelled because when Fantendo tried out the game, they noticed that the storyline was too offensive for kids at young ages. EEA Inc. did not want a single game in the series to be given a rating higher than E, so it got cancelled. Later sequels were also released on the Wii. Luigi's Mansion 4: Haunted Dreams, Luigi's Mansion 5: Curse of the Mansion, and Luigi's Mansion 6: U Are Doomed!! are currently the only games in the series to be given a platforming genre. Fantendo also stated that from now on, games in the series will always be given a platforming genre. Luigi's Mansion 7 will be the upcoming seventh installment for the series. It will also have a platforming genre, and it will also be a 3D game, but it will mainly consist of elements from most 2D platforming games.
