Brick Blocks are blocks that are (hence the name) made of bricks. They first appeared in Super Mario Bros. when it comes to the main series and in the Luigi's Mansion series, they first appeared in Luigi's Mansion 4: Haunted Dreams, and they later appeared in Luigi's Mansion 5: Curse of the Mansion and Luigi's Mansion 6: U Are Doomed!!. Throughout the whole Mario series, Brick Blocks are common as ? Blocks and therefore, became a phenomenon to the Mario games. Like ? Blocks, Brick Blocks can contain items inside (although not always). Brick Blocks are breakable by jumping from below, however, they are also breakable by ground pounding on them.
Luigi's Mansion 4: Haunted DreamsEdit
Brick Blocks first appear in Luigi's Mansion 4: Haunted Dreams, where they only contained coins. Brick Blocks shatter when they are hit from below or ground pounded in this game and they may or may not contain coins. Their animation is the same when they get hit and produce nothing compared to when they get hit and produce a coin.
Luigi's Mansion 5: Curse of the MansionEdit
Brick Blocks reappear in Luigi's Mansion 5: Curse of the Mansion, with the same items contained in most of them and the same functions. They are slightly more common in this game.
Luigi's Mansion 6: U Are Doomed!!Edit
Luigi's Mansion 7Edit
Brick Blocks will make their fourth appearance in Luigi's Mansion 7. They will once again contain coins, but they will have to be hit multiple times to gain coins, and once all the coins are obtained, they will become Used Blocks, just like in 2D games. Brick Blocks are still able to contain just one coin, and after collecting it, they will become Used Blocks. Brick Blocks are also once again breakable, and for each Brick Block that is broken, ten points will be earned. Brick Blocks can now contain power-ups.
